Established in 1977, EAR (Engineering and Recording, Inc.) is a professional technology supplier and systems integrator specializing in broadcast, audio, video, media production, and content-management solutions.
EAR represents leading manufacturers across the professional audio and video industry. Our clients include media producers, broadcasters, government entities, educational institutions, sports organizations, houses of worship, and businesses that create, distribute, manage, and display digital media.

Built on Nearly Five Decades of Change
EAR (pronounced “E-A-R”) began as a sound consulting company in Phoenix, Arizona in the late 1970s. Owners Ed Vogt and Mike King carried the success of that consulting business into the early 1980s, supplying professional audio technology for recording, public address, broadcast, and industrial applications throughout the Southwest.
EAR's staff worked with clients ranging from local musicians and production companies to internationally recognized artists and filmmakers, including Paul McCartney and Robert Altman. The EAR storefront became a destination for Phoenix-area professionals looking for recording and sound-system technology.
As professional media moved from analog tape to digital production, EAR moved with it. The company expanded into professional video, computer-based editing, nonlinear production systems, storage, networking, streaming, automation, and today's increasingly software-driven media workflows.
By the early 1990s, EAR had evolved into EAR Professional Audio Video. Today, the company continues to combine decades of industry experience with an ongoing commitment to emerging technology.
